Tool Overview

Tesseract is an open-source OCR engine originally developed by HP and subsequently maintained by Google. Utilizing LSTM recurrent neural networks, it recognizes characters, line segments, and layouts across more than 100 languages, producing text files, hOCR XML, and searchable PDF outputs.
